Virginia Mitchell Rye, age 90, of Hamilton, AL passed away Monday, March 22, 2021 at her residence. She was born in Hamilton, Alabama on Tuesday, May 27, 1930 to Joe Mitchell and Virgie Kennedy Mitchell.

Visitation will be on Thursday, March 25, 2021 from 6-8 p.m. at Marion County Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, March 26, 2021 at Marion County Funeral Home with Bro. Ed Puckett, Bro. Tommy Franks, Bro. Dan Duncan officiating and burial at Cooper Cemetery.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Virgie Mitchell; sisters, Gertie, Girtha, Alma, Mary, Tress; brothers, Albert, Gaston, Ollie, Oddis, John.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of 71 years, Marvin Cecil Rye; brother-in- laws, Olan Rye (wife, Joann), Hershell Rye (wife, Gail); sister-in-laws, Eva Dell Williams, Jimmie Lou Williams; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Marion County Funeral Home assisted the family.
