Virginia Nixon, age 85, of Northport, Alabama, passed away Monday, September 06, 2021 at DCH-Tuscaloosa. She was born in Fayette, Alabama on Sunday, April 05, 1936 to David Hollis Atkinson and Abbie Lee Atkinson

She was a beloved wife, mother and Nana, always putting others before herself. She was a selfless, caring person who will be missed beyond words by her family. She was always a light in the lives of her child and grandchildren, who adored her.

Private family service 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 09, 2021at Marion County Funeral Home with Pastor John Holiday officiating  and burial at Hamilton Memory Gardens.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hayward Nixon; parents, Hollis and Abbie Atkinson; brothers, Lambert, Proctor, Lee, Carl, Don Atkinson; sisters, Eloise Harkness, Sue Hubbert.
