Era D. Ray age 91 of Hamilton, AL passed away Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at Terrace Manor Nursing Home in Russellville, AL. She was born in Franklin Co., AL on Sunday, October 12, 1919 to J.R. & Cora Gentry Swinney.
Visitation will be on Saturday, January 15, 2011, 11:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m. at the Marion County Funeral Home. The service will be at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, January 15, 2011 at the Marion County Funeral Home with burial in Liberty Hill Cemetery. Bro. Lynn McCullar will officiate.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Webster Ray; daughter, Sarah Jo Ray; grandson, Scott Ray; parents, J. R. & Cora Swinney; brothers & sisters, Nava, Virgie, Conard, Beulah, Lula, Minnie, Vera, Curt, Adell, Mary Nell, Olan, & Calvin.
She leaves to cherish her memory, children, Marshal (Barbara)Rea, Cherry (Gay) Gregg & Jimmy (Rose) Ray; grandchildren, Danny (Annette) Rea, Janice Rea, JoAnn (Steve) Hagood, Tamara (Mark) Tompkins, Mike (Sherri) Gregg & Kim (David) Fulton; great grandchildren, Nathan, Dusty & chase Rea, Tara (Andy) Young, Gary Gregg, David Fulton III, Spencer & Lucas Fulton, Anna Rose, Colby & Catlyn Tompkins; great great grandchild, Landen Rea; brother, Jerry (Lou) Swinney; sister, Sally (Clifford) McClean.
