Dorothy Jean Cooley Akers, age 79, of Guin, AL passed away Saturday, February 09, 2019 at Sunset Manor Nursing Home in Guin . She was born March 30, 1939 in Sparta, Tennessee  to John Cooley and Ollie Thompson Cooley.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 from 12-2 p.m. at Fulton Bridge Baptist Church. The service will follow at 2 p.m. at  Fulton Bridge Church with Bro. Michael Stancil officiating. Burial will be in the adjoining Cemetery.

She was preceded in death by her son, Jeffery Lee Akers; husband, Marvin Akers; parents, John and Ollie Cooley; sisters, Catherine Reeder, Margaret Oaks, Minnie Powell, Mary Louise Roth, Henrietta Cooley; brothers, Junior Cooley, Jim Cooley, Robert Cooley.

She leaves to cherish her memory, sisters, Ruby Shaw, Evelyn Pennington; brothers, John Cooley (wife, Jackie), Harvey Cooley; two grandchildren; host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and friends.

Marion County Funeral Home assisted the family.
